Stepping Out
Stepping Out is a professional learning resource for teachers of adolescent
students that equips participants with approaches, processes and strategies to
improve students’ literacy and learning outcomes. Stepping Out workshops a range
of practical learning and teaching strategies to cater for the diversity of
needs and abilities of adolescent learners. The rationale of the Stepping Out
program is to focus the underpinning and essential role that literacy plays in
all subjects for successful engagement of students.
Stepping Out contains three modules:
- Writing
- Reading and Viewing
- Listening and Speaking
The Stepping Out literacy support materials are managed by Edith Cowan
University Resources for Learning Ltd (ECURL) on behalf of the Department of
Education and Training, Western Australia. They are companion materials to First
Steps.
