First Steps Second Edition (Reading) |
First Steps Second Edition texts and professional learning courses provide a
strategic whole-school approach to improving students’ literacy outcomes. The
resource is developed around four literacy strands; Reading, Viewing, Writing
and Speaking and Listening. The First Steps Reading Second Edition has recently
been released with other strands to follow. The Second Edition builds on the
original First Steps resource by drawing upon contemporary research and
developments in the field of literacy learning. Links between assessment and
teaching are made clear and the resource provides teachers with many practical
teaching procedures and activities. First Steps is aimed at helping schools;
teachers and systems achieve literacy outcomes and goals they have adopted for
their students. It is designed to be implemented in the company of other
programs and alongside a variety of resources and curriculum’s.
The First Steps resource
