Dengan naskah: With the script
There are many different literacy tasks that can be
easily created using the script (in
Word
or PDF)
for Penyelamatan binatang. These can be done individually, but
having students work collaboratively offers opportunities for them to
talk about the strategies they are using for each task.
The following ideas are some possibilities:
- Word hunt:
Discuss with students how to recognise one or more types of words such
as kata ganti (pronouns), kata benda (nouns) or kata kerja (verbs).
Then give small groups of students a copy of all or part of the script
and challenge them to find as many as possible of those words. You may
give students a language hunt sheet (in
Word or
PDF) or some
different highlighters to colour in different word types. Allow some
healthy competition in identifying words and gradually build up class
posters for display.
- Cloze:
Take some sections of the script and create cloze
sheets by removing words. You can create different levels of
difficulty by the frequency of missing words and also by deciding
whether or not to list the missing words at the bottom of the task
sheet.
- Jigsaw:
Jigsaw activities are those where students are given
mixed up words or sentences and arrange them correctly. You can divide
up individual sentences into separate word cards, and challenge
students to create correct sentences from them. Or you can split up
chunks of text into separate sentences for the same type of activity.
Another version would be to create a simple conversation or interview
with one character from the learning object, and then give students
all the individual sentences to re-create a sensible conversation.
At the end of each task, give students opportunities
to explain the strategies they have used and to ask questions about each
task.
