Assessment
Assessment of language proficiency can be made through
measuring student performance against criteria on a number of assessment
tasks, and against the Key Performance Measures.
The purpose of assessment during the course of the
learning sequence is to inform students and teachers of the progress of
the learning sequence. Throughout
this series of Teacher Resources, examples of assessment as,
for and of learning are included as appropriate. See
Effective assessment for
an explanation of these assessment terms.
Assessment points are included within the Teaching Notes
sections. Students should be aware of assessment points and the criteria
for success when doing a task.
