Assessment
Throughout this series of Teacher
Resources, examples of assessment as, for and of
learning are included as appropriate. See
Effective assessment for an explanation of these assessment
terms.
The Teaching Notes section provides the context for
assessment at various points during this learning sequence.
Assessment as learning:
When students have used Kata-kata dasar several times, ask them
to work with a partner to self-assess and peer-assess the understandings
they have gained by using the learning object against some criteria (in
Word or
PDF).
Assessment for learning: When students
have had a chance to explore the learning object more than once, assess
students understanding of:
- what a Me-verb is
- the rules for creating Me- verbs from base words
- how to identify base words when given a Me-verb
- how to use the dictionary to find out the meaning
of a Me-verb
- how to use a Me- verb correctly in a simple
sentence.
This is easily done by giving students a Me- verb and
asking them to explain to you how they would look it up in a dictionary,
or working with their partner to complete a table similar to that done
in the PeN-prefix
extension activity.
Students' proficiency in Indonesian can be assessed
against the Key Performance Measures for Indonesian Years 6/7 (in
Word or
PDF). A blank
Master copy of the Key Performance Measures is available in the
Resources section.
