Assessment

Assessment of Indonesian language proficiency
Assessment of student achievement in curriculum areas other than Indonesian

Throughout this series of Teacher Resources, examples of assessment as, for and of learning are included as appropriate. See Effective assessment for an explanation of these assessment terms.

Achievement in Indonesian language proficiency can be measured against the Key Performance Measures (KPMs) for Indonesian Grade 6/7, or for more advanced students, against working towards the KPMs for Indonesian Year 10. Individual State and Territory Indonesian language skills outcomes could also be used for assessment.

View the Key Performance Measures addressed during this learning sequence (in Word or PDF).

View the assessment rubric based on KPMs (in Word or PDF).

Students can self-assess or peer-assess their work using this rubric (Assessment as learning).

Teachers can assess student work using this rubric and provide feedback for students (Assessment for learning).

Assessment of student achievement in curriculum areas other than Indonesian:

Student achievement in curriculum areas other than Indonesian language can be measured against their demonstration of understanding of the following understanding goals:

1.  Students will understand some ways of making choices when faced with a personal predicament.
How would you decide what to do if you were faced with a predicament, and why?

2.  Students will understand some similarities and differences between predicaments faced by young people in Indonesia and young people in Australia.
In what ways are predicaments faced by young people in Indonesia and Australia similar and in what ways might they be different?

3.  Students will understand the ways that the culture a person grows up in influences their thinking and behaviour.
In what ways does a person's culture influence the way they think and behave?

Assessment for learning: View the criteria for success based on the understanding goals (in Word or PDF).
