Mencari kata - Word hunt
The scripts available in the
Resources section of each
learning object in this series can be used for a
number of language 'hunts'. At this stage the script includes the
English translation, you may prefer to create a version in Indonesian
only, or to use other texts.
Have students work in pairs with a copy of one script
each. They have a limited time to try and fill out all the answers to a
'word hunt' sheet. (See the sample sheet in
Word or
PDF).
Briefly explain to students what each category is,
with some examples in English. When time is up, have pairs swap papers
and share answers. Have some sort of prize for the pair who find the
most correct words.
This type of 'hunt' can be useful to fill in five to
ten minutes at the beginning or end of a lesson and at the same time to
reinforce parts of speech.
