Extension activity B: 
What if ... versions of puzzles

  • Ask students to consider what difference it would make if the puzzles were 4x4, or 5x5 grids rather than 3x3.
    • What extra language would be required to define positions more accurately? This would include ordinal numbers such as first, second, third row.
    • How much harder or easier would the puzzles be to solve?
  • Have interested students create and test those larger grid puzzles. They may need support in identifying and using extra language.
