A Kinaesthetic Spelling Game
Devised by Julie Shepherd
Students
form groups of seven. (Smaller groups might work better
with younger children.)
Each group chooses
a seven letter word e.g. PLANETS. They have about three
minutes to make as many words within the word as they can
e.g. PLANE, PLANT. ANT etc.
Each group is
given seven A4 cards and a texta. Each letter of the chosen
word is written on a different card. Each student chooses
a letter to act.
In turn, each
group has ninety seconds to present to the class as many
of the words as they can:
