OverviewThe Department acts under a trustee arrangement in the administration of certain library and student funds. The financial management of these trust funds is the responsibility of the appropriate Board which oversees the fund. The Department only provides administrative support for these funds. This policy provides an overview of the trust funds the Department provides administrative support for. CoverageThis policy applies to those staff involved in providing administrative support of those funds of which the Department acts under a trustee arrangement This policy does not relate to trust accounts maintained within individual budget centres. Information on budget centres trust accounts can be found in the Department's Budgeting Policy. PolicyThe following table summarises the Trusts managed by the Department, and provides Internet web links to more detailed information.
As the Department only manages trustee funds in a trustee arrangement, their financial information is not included as part of the Department’s Financial Statements. However, details of amounts collected and distributed to external parties during a reporting period are recorded in the Notes to the Financial Statements. The Boards of the State Library and Archives Trust, and the Allport Library & Museum of Fine Arts Fund, prepare separate annual reports, which are incorporated as part of the Department’s overall Annual Report.
